Social media personality and wildcard entry Manisha Rani emerged victorious from Season 11 of the popular dance reality series “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.”

Manisha received a check for Rs 30 lakh in addition to returning home with the winner’s trophy, and her choreographer, Ashutosh Pawar, received a check for Rs 10 lakh. The two also won a trip to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

The ‘Murder Mubarak’ cast, consisting of Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Verma, and Sanjay Kapoor, joined the contestants on stage for a dance during the finale.

Manisha Rani, Shoaib Ibrahim, Dhanashree Verma, Adrija Sinha, and Sreerama Chandra were the five finalists; however, only Manisha, Shoaib, and Adrija advanced to the top three.

Manisha sang her final renditions of “Thumkeshwari,” “Do You Love Me,” “Param Sundari,” and “Saami Saami” in those songs.

After a riveting rendition of “Zinda Banda” from the Shah Rukh Khan film “Jawan,” Shoaib performed “Badshah O Badshah,” which was based on SRK and Twinkle Khanna in the Abbas-Mustan film “Badshah” from 1999.

Adrija’s dance acts, choreographed to songs like “Chammak Challo,” “Nadiyo Paar,” and “Move Your Body,” won her hearts as well, if not enough to rank first.

Manisha, a Munger, Bihar native, characterized her experience as nothing less than a dream realized.

“I owe it all to the love, support and encouragement of the judges and the audience,” she stated.

“I had no doubt that this encounter would transform my life, and it has. I had to prove myself twice as hard as usual because I was a wildcard entry, but every moment has been exciting and has helped me grow as a dancer.”

Manisha previously won the second runner-up prize on ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’. She gained notoriety during the Covid lockdowns for her dance reels on TikTok and Instagram.

Ashutosh, her choreographer, has been understanding and has pushed Manisha to explore new aspects of her dancing abilities every week. She expressed her gratitude to him for this. This victory belongs to everyone who encouraged and believed in me, not just me.”

One of the three judges on the show, choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan, said of Manisha: “Her innate talent for dancing has really set the stage on fire. She has continuously challenged herself and performed a variety of dance styles with grace and accuracy.”

“Manisha has swiftly carved a niche in everyone’s heart with her outstanding talent and mesmerising performances,” said fellow judge Arshad Warsi.

She amazed us every week with her amazing versatility, and every performance showed her commitment to excellence as she skillfully and gracefully tackled a variety of dance genres.”

The third judge, Malaika Arora, declared in closing, “Her performances were simply outstanding throughout the show.” She is undoubtedly my “Versatile Rani,” as she consistently wows us all with her performances.”

Manisha enchanted everyone with her lively personality and gentle manner in addition to her dancing skills.

Actor Shahid Kapoor was spellbound by her dance moves and wondered if he should learn from her. She also used the occasion to share some photo-ops advice with Juhi Chawla, who is always so elegant, and to dazzle Nora Fatehi with her belly dancing prowess.

On Tuesday, the massive South Korean tech company Naver announced that it will present the world’s first robot operating system (OS) built on a web platform.

Naver is participating in the “LEAP 2024” event this week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside other major international tech companies like Google, Apple, Meta Platforms, and AWS.

According to its representatives, the Korean company will showcase “ARC mind powered by Whale OS,” the first web platform-based robot operating system, at the event. This will assist robotics developers globally in creating a variety of robot services.

According to the Yonhap news agency, the ARC mind will enable the integration of current applications with robot services and feature a web application programming interface for the command, reasoning, and mobility of robots.

Naver stated that it intends to initially equip its robots with the ARC mind, which is lighter and faster than the original robot operating systems, and then develop an open ecosystem.

During the event, the company will also introduce a next-generation robot platform that it co-developed with Samsung Electronics.

Together, the two companies have combined Samsung’s semiconductor solutions, such as system on a chip and image sensors, with Naver’s OS and software solutions to create a robotics edge computing platform.

Along with Shubhadeep Das Chowdhury, Ananya Pal, Adya Mishra, Piyush Panwar, and Anjana Padmanabhan, Vaibhav was one of the six finalists.

People with sleep apnea frequently pause their breathing while they are asleep, snort, and gasp. Blood oxygen levels are lowered as a result, potentially fatalizing the illness.

Researchers found that individuals with the disorder are more likely to experience morning headaches or difficulty focusing on tasks.

“Sleep apnoea is a common disorder that is often underdiagnosed, yet treatments are available,” said Dominique Low, of Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts, US.

“Our study found participants who had sleep apnea symptoms had greater odds of having memory or thinking problems,” he added.

Approximately, 4,257 participants in the study answered questionnaires about their sleep patterns, memory, and cognitive issues.

In contrast to 628 people, or 20% of those without the symptoms, 357 people, or 33%, reported memory or thinking issues, even though 1,079 people reported symptoms like snorting, gasping, or breathing pauses during sleep.

Furthermore, compared to those without the symptoms, the team discovered that those with the symptoms had a roughly 50% higher likelihood of also reporting memory or thinking issues.

“These findings highlight the importance of early screening for sleep apnea,” said Low. “Effective treatments like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machines are readily available. Quality sleep, along with eating a healthy diet, regular exercise, social engagement and cognitive stimulation, may ultimately reduce a person’s risk of thinking and memory problems, improving their quality of life.”

The study’s limitations were also noted by the researchers, who noted that participants self-reported their symptoms rather than having their conditions evaluated by medical professionals and that the data came from a single survey.

According to a large study, regularly consuming ultra-processed foods may increase your risk of 32 diseases, including mental health disorders, cancer, heart and lung conditions, and even early death.

Examples of these foods include packaged baked goods and snacks, carbonated drinks, sugary cereals, and ready-to-eat or heat products. These products also frequently have low vitamin and fiber contents and high added sugar, fat, and/or salt content.

Strong evidence was discovered by an international team of researchers from Australia, the US, France, and Ireland, linking higher intake of ultra-processed foods to a roughly 50% increased risk of death from cardiovascular disease, a 48–53% increased risk of anxiety, and common mental disorders, and a 12 per cent greater risk of type 2 diabetes.

The results, which were published in The BMJ, are based on an umbrella review, or high-level evidence summary, of 14 review articles with nearly 10 million participants and 45 different pooled meta-analyses. None of them received funding from manufacturers of highly processed foods.

Additionally, the researchers discovered evidence linking a higher intake of ultra-processed foods to a 21 per cent increased risk of death from all causes, a 40–66 per cent increased risk of death related to heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, sleep issues, and a 22 per cent increased risk of depression.

Melissa M. Lane, an associate research fellow at Deakin University, Australia, stated, “These findings support urgent mechanistic research and public health actions that seek to target and minimise ultra-processed food consumption for improved population health.”

Furthermore, researchers urged public policies and action on ultra-processed foods in a linked editorial, stating that these foods shorten life and harm health.

“These include front-of-pack labels, restricting advertising and prohibiting sales in or near schools and hospitals, and fiscal and other measures that make unprocessed or minimally processed foods and freshly prepared meals as accessible and available as and cheaper than ultra-processed foods.”

On World Obesity Day on Monday, doctors stated that the prevalence of obesity in children in India has skyrocketed, increasing the likelihood of an unhealthy future.

Every year on March 4, people around the world observe World Obesity Day to increase awareness of the disease and its effects.

“As a consultant physician, I’ve seen first-hand how India’s health landscape is being reshaped by a troubling trend: an increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) not just among adults, but alarmingly, in children too. Conditions like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers are now being diagnosed at younger ages,” Dr. Vaishali Lokhande, General Physician, Internal Medicine, Apollo Hospitals.

Data from the hospital shows that obesity in children tripled compared to five years ago. Hypertension, once rare in children, has nearly quadrupled.

According to a recent global analysis published in The Lancet, there were 12.5 million grossly overweight children in India between the ages of five and nineteen in 2022 (7.3 million boys and 5.2 million girls), a significant increase from 0.4 million in 1990.

This represents a threefold increase in just three decades, and it raises concerns about our country’s long-term health. As a physician, I am extremely concerned about India’s obesity epidemic, especially the startling rise in childhood obesity, says Dr. Shridhar Deshmukh of Ruby Hall Clinic Hinjewadi.

The rising incidence of obesity is ascribed by Dr. Manish Mittal, Consultant Physician at Bhailal Amin General Hospital in Vadodara, to lifestyle factors that carry risks such as diabetes, heart disease, and strokes.

Obese people frequently have fatty liver, obstructive sleep apnea, and arthritis, which contributes to a substantial medical burden, he said.

To combat obesity, the experts advocated for early awareness and education, especially for children. Sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy eating habits, and early obesity are major contributing factors.

“Childhood habits impacting adult health are a major contributing factor to India’s health crisis, which is characterized by an increase in the incidence of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. In order to address this problem, we need to pass laws supporting healthy environments, encourage physical activity, push for traditional, nutrient-rich foods, and increase public awareness of the effects of lifelong habits. India can tackle the rising prevalence of chronic illnesses and improve the general health of its people by promoting healthy habits at a young age, according to Dr. Aasim Maldar, Consultant Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at P. Google announced on Friday that it is taking the necessary steps to “ensure our policies are applied consistently across the ecosystem, as we do for any form of policy violation globally,” having given developers in India more than three years to prepare, including three weeks after the Supreme Court’s order.

In a blog post, the business stated that when necessary, taking down non-compliant apps from Google Play can be part of enforcing its policy.

As part of the company’s payment policy, developers are free to submit their apps again for listing on Play by selecting one of the three available billing options.

Even if it is a component of a paid service, one option is to operate on a consumption-only basis without having to pay a service fee.

Google stated, “Any developer could use this option to let users access content they paid for outside of the app.”

The second choice involves integrating Google Play’s billing system to conduct business with millions of users globally and provide secure payment methods and central payment management.

The third choice is to provide users in India with an additional payment method in addition to Google Play.

“The fee is further lowered by an extra 4% when users choose to use alternative billing systems. As part of our user choice billing pilot, which is currently available in 35 markets, app developers who are expanding into international markets can also sign up, according to Google.

Meanwhile, “these developers still have other ways to run their businesses on Android, like distributing their content directly through their websites or through other Android app stores.”

The business stated, “We continue to offer our support to help developers get into compliance and existing users will be able to access the apps without interruption.”

According to the company, the Android and Play ecosystems have helped to sustain over 2.5 million jobs in India. It further stated that fees exceeding fifteen percent apply to fewer than sixty developers on Google Play in India.

According to the company, over 200,000 Indian developers who follow the policies use Google Play.
