In Varanasi, Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor were spotted doing the Ganga aarti before the premiere of their next movie, “Mr & Mrs Mahi.” The actors were spotted worshiping at the Dashashwasmedh Ghat on Monday before departing for Varanasi to cast their votes. They also asked for heavenly blessings.On Tuesday, Janhvi will visit the nation’s capital to begin the film’s promotional tour.
Directed by Sharan Sharma, the romantic sports drama film will open in theaters on May 31. The film centers on a flawed newlywed couple and their ardent cricket fandom. The captivating tale of a husband who risks all to safeguard his wife’s dream is told in the teaser.
The two-and-a-half-minute teaser opens with Rajkummar and Janhvi’s characters getting to know one another before their marriage.Before it’s revealed that Rajkummar’s character in the movie is a former cricket player who couldn’t make it big due of a weak support structure, the couple learns their shared love of cricket.
The reprise of “Dekha Tenu Pehli Pehli Baar Ve” from “KKKG” is also featured in the trailer. He decides to support his wife in realizing her dream after witnessing her perform brilliantly at a match, but not before facing opposition from his wife. The doctor played by Janhvi challenges her husband’s choice even though he promises to coach her.
Their relationship is put to the test by the game, but Rajkummar stands at her side as both her coach and her dependable support system. Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s second collaboration is “Mr & Mrs Mahi.”
Janhvi stated at a press conference: “He (Rajkummar) desired to attend. That place was Varanasi. He’s actually filming for a movie there, but we were promoting the movie there. He’ll try to travel to any city we visit. She revealed that Rajkummar was disappointed not to be able to participate in the advertisements.
“He mentioned yesterday that the excitement of advertising a successful movie is something different, which made him quite unhappy. He had film commitments, so much as he would have liked to be here. I have twice as much energy here because of it, Janhvi remarked.
“I’m thrilled that we began promoting with the Ganga aarti and from Varanasi. We couldn’t have wished for a better start to our promotions, therefore I believe it was a supernatural intervention,” she remarked.
The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on May 31.
