Many users are allegedly seeing a “could not reach” error message while adding smart home devices to the Google Home application.
Users are unable to add additional devices as a result, which prevents the process from concluding, according to 9To5Google.
The Home application may operate hundreds of third-party devices created by other firms in addition to Google-owned goods like the most recent Nest Cam and Nest Thermostat.
Normally, adding devices involves connecting an account to another service, but at the moment, that process seems broken.
The tech giant reportedly made more user interface (UI) adjustments earlier this month as its Home application intensified preview testing for its significant revamp, but it also seemed to be breaking established Assistant routines for some users.
The former page’s drop-down settings only enabled users to change the on or off settings for each light or switch in their home; the new page, however, allows routines to handle a variety of functions of each item.
